How Can I Get This Degree?

An associate degree from the International Academy of Design & Technology will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to enter the interesting and ever-changing world of visual communications and graphic design. In this program, students will learn about electronic technology, the basics of design, layout, type, color, illustration and other similar avenues of graphic design. Before students can enroll in this program and begin taking classes, they are encouraged to apply and submit applications via online or traditional post. Application materials include a high school transcript, or equivalent, and college transcripts if the applicant is transferring schools. Students should also submit an enrollment application and an application fee. All students are subject to personal or telephone interviews with admissions representatives. There are no further academic requirements for admission into this program. Once in, students can expect to take courses in Drawing, Perspective, Visual Indication, Art Direction, Fundamentals of the Web, Corporate Identity, and other similar classes.

These professionals also work with and create images that are used for corporate messaging and branding. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, graphic designers earn around $42,000 per year, which will depend on locality and experience level. Web designers work in much the same way graphic designers do, but primarily on the Internet. They create websites, landing pages, e-mail campaigns, and logos for use in marketing or advertising campaigns online. Web designers will generally earn the same salary as graphic designers.
